Our run of success continues as our training provision was named as the Apprenticeship Programme of the Year at the esteemed Tes FE Awards.
The victory came as a very welcome surprise as we were up against some impressive employers and colleges from across the UK. It was also great to hear about all the fantastic opportunities available to young people, and those looking to upskill or for a change of career.
The prestigious event, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Friday, was a brilliant way to round off the week, as the awards recognises the training providers and colleges that deliver courses which engage with learners and offer them the best chance to develop and succeed in their chosen careers.
We were presented the award in recognition of our Ofsted outstanding rated courses and for our 89 per cent success rate across all our apprenticeship programmes – compared with a UK average of 65 per cent. We were also commended for giving long-term unemployed young people a clear career path to a bright future, partnering and holding events with organisations such as the Job Centre, the Prince’s Trust, Sport 4 Life and community outreach services.
Commenting on why BB Training Academy was awarded the title of Apprenticeship Programme of the Year, the judges said: “What are particularly impressive are the pathways this scheme offers all the way to level 6, in an industry that has traditionally not operated at that level. It is really meeting the needs of the sector and is also supporting other nurseries.”
We see the accolade as a fantastic way of recognising our dedicated team of trainers, who work hard to deliver the best training and support to our learners and who genuinely care about helping them to achieve their potential.
The award continues our amazing run of success, as we were awarded an outstanding Ofsted grade across the board in March 2017 and in January this year we were named in the Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers.
