A ‘Flipping’ Good Time for Catering Apprentices 09 - Feb - 2016

Catering apprentices at Busy Bees nurseries across the country got into the Shrove Tuesday spirit and celebrated Pancake Day 2016 in style.

As well as showing the children how to make their own pancake mixture, some of the apprentices tried their hand at various allergen-friendly options, including dairy-free batter, so no child left without tasting the traditional treat.

After demonstrating their pancake flipping skills, apprentices went on to help the children decorate their finished creations, packing them full of fresh, tasty fruit.

Speaking of the nursery activities, Training Manager, Fay Gibbin, said, “The passion, enthusiasm and creativity that our catering apprentices bring to their nursery setting is clear to see. As a childcare professional, getting involved in food festival days such as Pancake Day is a great way to get the nursery children involved in cooking, having fun and helping them to build a healthy relationship with food from an early age.”
